Creature comforts - Adorable Bracelet

This is just to cute for words. I got back from work this morning, I'm shattered and thought I'd post my little creation. It has a baby turtle, pig, mouse, duck and rabbit. All super adorable. I hope you do like this, took me a while to make. I've never been very good at making animals but the results are lovely. :)

Enjoy my little farmhouse friends, oh and how cute is that rainbow swirl bead! X

Chocolate Madness Bracelet & Earrings

Last night I spent all night dreaming in chocolate and decided to make a bracelet full of many chocolate treats! A girl just loves chocolates, so why would a girl not want one. I work in a Severe Learning Disability home and I have donated 1 chocolate bracelet, 1 Cake Bracelet, 1 Breakfast bracelet and one set of earrings to the hard working individuals their who try to make a difference in peoples lives. If you'd like your very own chocolate bracelet, you can purchase one from http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/robertandjenny/m.html :) x

My husband tells me I'm to generous and I keep giving a way my jewellery, rather than attempting to sell it. Which is really what I would like to do in the future, that definitely seems a long way off, if I carry on giving my goodies away. LOL. Ah well I can't help it. I think it comes as a real surprise to people when they receive something for nothing. I often want to donate a lot of goodies to the people in my care but such is life they would try to eat them, so for now I give them tasty treats (real ones), pretty magazines and my free range services setting about to repair all their teddy bears and belongings should they get ruined. Bless their hearts, God willing, I pray they one day get better but I know this may never happen, so for now I do everything I can to make there lives as fulfilling as possible. x

Doggy Wog Door Stop

I absolutely adore dogs, I'm also not allowed on as I live in a flat. :(

So I make do with my friendly doggy door stops dotted around the house, I have quite a few. After my Aunty came to stay she saw my doggies, and fell in love with one, so I had to make it for her.

So this is super cute Charlie, Ralph the other dog is very jealous of his new friend! Pictures don't do him justice, I'll be honest. x

Liquorice Pendant

I have slept in til 3pm today as I have a nasty headache and have tried to get rid of it. :(

Its always hard to be creative when your under the weather, so I just went and made something very simple today. I detest Liquorice Alsorts but suffice to say they are just to good to pass up an opportunity to make something sweet as they do look divine as Jewellery.

I have just made this liquorice pendant, necklace not pictured in tow yet. I am thinking of making many mini liquorices to make up the chain. We'll see how it goes, as for now, I'm logging off. xx

Blanket converted to cushion

Okay, so a couple of days ago I showed you all a picture of my crochet patchwork blanket in progress, I randomly decided to turn it into a cushion and make a little mouse to sit on top of it and sniff some flowers. I do want to make a crochet blanket, I just felt I wanted a slight different colour arrangement. So, here it is. What do you think? x

My tension is not great, this is the first thing I've ever made since learning to crochet last month. Not to bad for a beginner but there is alot of room for improvement. x

Scrumptious Polymer Clay Breakfast

Last Night I set about creating a new bracelet out of Polymer Clay, this one is themed around what people may have for breakfast. I personally think this is one tasty bracelet. This little bracelet is now going on sale at Etsy, along with my fruit tart earrings. I've never sold anything before, so I'm going to give it ago. I'll let the pictures do the talking!

Saturday 21 January 2012

Not much to add today, other than I'm poorly with the sniffles and need a strong spicy curry to knock it in to the 6th century. Cough Cough! I was reminiscing over some old crafts I use to do, I use to make these snazzy bookmarks out of cereal boxes and odds & ends of fabric. I think they are awesomely cute, I gave them all away, so I think perhaps I will whip up a few more! They are so easy to make, why don't you have a go! All you need is some cardboard, scrap ribbon and fabric and maybe a few buttons of your own choice.

Crochet's Patchwork, Candylicious!

So, I arrived back from work at 8am this morning after a 12 hour shift and have been snoozing till 3pm. Last night I continued on with make cute squares for my blanket, which are very pleasurable to make as you don't need to be 100% focused like some other crafts like Cross Stitch and at 3pm in the morning this is a God send because your brain functions like a dried out sponge. DO NOTE, I JUST LEARNT TO CROCHET A MONTH AGO, SO MY TENSION ISN'T PERFECT! x

I had a request to show my work in progress for my quilt, so I'd honour it. I think maybe I've confused the matter by saying quilt rather than blanket. I will make a patchwork quilt one of these days but that's another matter entirely after seeing the most amazing quilts at the festival of quilt, it will take something really special to poor my time into. My Grannies recently made 2 beautiful double, proper patchwork quilts out of Tanya Whelan fabric for one and Amy Butler for the other, I will ask her for some pics, as they are extremely scrumptious.

So here is my pictures, I've also attached photo's of this amazing tool that I've never used which is called a flower loom, I'm sure you may of heard of it but not me. I'm planning on making lots of dainty flowers out of pretty wools and attaching them to my blanket at random points. I hope the pics can show what I mean, I'm not the best photographer nor do I have an amazing camera. Bye for now, love to all during gloomy January and keep inspiring others with your crafts! x

Yummy Num Nums!

Okay, so today I have gone for an Interview, I am not desperate to change my job but I'm looking towards caring in the community. I think it went very well, ultimately, its nice for me to make the choice on what I wish to do.

So I haven't been up to anything crafty today but I have to go work tonight, so during my breaks, I'll have a nice chance to do some more crochet on my patchwork blanket.

I thought, I'd share with you some more real tasty creations, I've made recently. Including some 0 calorie fruit tarts! YUM! xxxxx

Cross Stitch Cottage and Polka Dot Frame

Okay so I started this just before I got married in 2011, I spent at least 6 hours a week on it but it slowly became tedious. I have never done a large scale cross stitch before, so thought it would be a good challenge, I finished this just before CHRISTMAS :)

However, I might just say I had some serious issues as I misplaced a piece of the chart and had to guess alot of the stitches, very professional, I know!

My problem is, I work nights and so I take my crafty pieces to work to do during the nights, it helps me keep alert, but I am always "ooming" and "aaahhhing" about what to transport my work in and in the process I might just end up losing a needle or 2, or even a whole page to my chart. Oh dear! I'm so ditzy at times, for example today I went to work for a meeting at 10am (in my mind), however, when I arrive I discover the meeting is at 2pm!!!!! Oh dear the jokes, I appear to be very keen or DISORGANISED is more likely the case.

So, I thought I'd make some tasty calorie free creations out of Polymer Clay. After all they are simply delectable. Who could help themselves from not wanting a nibble, I certainly have taken a bite out of a few.

Journey Begins

I've never blogged before in my life, nor have I ever been extremely apt for the Internet. Since getting married in February 2012, I have contracted the crafty bug virus and have been indulging in all things handmade. Nothing beats going into a fabric store full of Tanya Whelan and Rowans Amy Butler fabric. That is my kind of heaven, or perhaps on a different day of the week, I'm in love with various colours of polymer clay, or even on another day, Wool is my antidote. I'm new to the scene of handmade indulgences but oh how I love them. Since February I have learnt to Cross Stitch, Crochet and make the fantastic varieties of yummy beads from Polymer Clay.

I am always looking for Inspiration, Ideas and Honest Hearted Opinions on how I can improve my crafting and of course Blogging, "Frankly" I am clueless. :)

I thought I'd start by showing you a little something I've made for a friend of mine in November 2011, I'm a bit behind so, I'll gradually get through everything I've been up to and I would love and appreciate many tips.
